Support Worker - Specialist Education Setting

Location: Totton, Hampshire
Pay: £13.75 per hour
Working pattern: 5 days per week (Monday-Friday)

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting for a Support Worker to work within a specialist education provision in Totton. This setting supports young people aged 11-19 with additional needs, including autism and associated complex needs.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a positive difference in young people's lives and has previous experience in a similar role.

The Role:

Supporting students with autism and additional needs in a classroom setting

Assisting with learning activities and differentiated tasks

Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation

Supporting communication, social development and independence skills

Working closely with teaching staff and therapists to meet individual EHCP targets

Requirements:

Previous experience as a Support Worker, Learning Support Assistant (LSA), or in a similar support-based role

Experience working with children or young people with additional needs (desirable)

A patient, empathetic and resilient approach

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (mandatory)
