I'm working with a client looking for a highly capable and experienced Senior Development Manager to join a housing association in East London on a short-term contract.
You will play a key role in delivering a portfolio of residential and social housing schemes, ensuring progress across all stages of the development lifecycle.
This is a hands-on role suited to a commercially aware professional with strong knowledge of affordable housing delivery, stakeholder engagement, and project oversight.

Location: East London
Rate: £52.90 per hour (Inside IR35)
Contract: 9 Weeks (Potential for extension)

Key Responsibilities
Oversee the delivery of residential and affordable housing schemes from inception to handover
Manage internal and external stakeholders, including local authorities, contractors, and consultants
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with regulatory and policy requirements
Support the organisation's objectives in expanding housing supply and improving outcomes for local communities
Prepare and present reports to senior leadership on programme progress, risks, and opportunities
Navigate funding, planning, procurement, and legal aspects of developmentAbout You
Proven track record as a Development or Senior Development Manager, ideally within a housing association or local authority setting
Strong knowledge of affordable housing, social rent, shared ownership, and mixed-tenure schemes
Confident managing large residential projects through all RIBA stages
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
Able to hit the ground running and work independently with minimal supervision
