Vertu FM are currently looking recruit an electrical maintenance supervisor with close proximity to Glasgow to support our long standing client. The ideal candidate will ideally have experience of electrical testing and inspection and experience of leading test and inspection teams previously.

ROLE: Electrical Maintenance Supervisor

LOCATION: Glasgow

SALARY: £44,000 + £5,700 car allowance ( or a company vehicle )

Suitably qualified Electrical Qualified Supervisor responsible for supervising a team of electrical test engineers and ensuring that all electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance tasks are completed to the highest standard, on time and within budget, in line with current regulations and standards. The role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems and the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years electrical experience post apprenticeship, with at least 5 years employed as a qualified supervisor. An in-depth knowledge of electrical test & inspection procedures, good computer literacy and ability to use testing & inspection software for completing reports. The candidate will also possess an in-depth knowledge of the current regulations BS7671:2018+A2 A flexible approach to work is an essential requirement and out of hours working may on occasion be required.

The main duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

 Supervise electrical test engineers and ensure that all work is completed to the highest

standard and in compliance with current regulations and standards.

 Plan, schedule and coordinate electrical work, taking into account factors such as H&s,

customer demand, project timelines, and resource availability.

 Monitor the progress of each project and make any necessary adjustments to the schedule

or work assignments as needed.

 Ensure that all team members have the necessary training, resources and support to

complete their tasks effectively.

 Monitor the performance of the team and identify any issues or areas for improvement.

 Ensure that all electrical test equipment and tools are properly maintained and in safe

working condition.

 Ensure that all work is carried out in line with contract requirements and guidelines,

including compliance with relevant legislation, standards and codes of practice.

 Ensure that all relevant documentation and paperwork is completed accurately and on time.

 To have knowledge of inspection and testing procedures and review works upon completion

in accordance with relevant certification.

 Complete site H&S checks to ensure that all paperwork is being filed in compliance with

company procedures.

 Ensure all risk assessments & method statements are relevant and being adhered to.

 Attend M&E Implementation Group Meetings.

 The management, development and motivation of their team of direct reports including the

assessment and monitoring of job performance and where necessary, facilitating the

company disciplinary and/or grievance procedure in conjunction with the Human Resources

Department.

 Management of contractual terms in accordance with divisional budgets

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Required:

 NICEIC Qualified Supervisor

 Valid ECS Grade Card

 City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent

 City & Guilds #removed# th Edition (Amendment 2)

 JIB Grading recognised electrical apprenticeship - NVQ Level 3 minimum/City & Guilds or

equivalent.

Advantageous:

 City & Guilds 2396 or equivalent

 City & Guilds 2921

Personal Attributes

 Customer focused individual with proactive approach to working.

 Proven experience in managing and motivating a team of electricians.

 Previous experience working within commercial projects / minor works / maintenance

environment.

 Ability to understand contract specifications.

 Strong understanding of electrical systems, including installation, repair, and maintenance.

 Demonstrate good knowledge of inspection, testing, verification, certification and reporting

procedures for the range of electrical work undertaken by the company. Conversant with

the Electricity at Work Regulations, British Standards and IEE guidance and Industry Codes of

Practice.

 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

 Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

 Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

 Good IT skills and experience with electrical certification software.

 Ability to comply with all Health & Safety requirements/regulations, RAMS etc.

 Ability to write technical reports and communicate verbally with colleagues and client

representatives.
