Project Manager

Oxford, UK

JOB TYPE: Permanent

SALARY: £60000 - £70000/annum + package

Wouldn`t it be great if there was a main contractor out there tendering (and winning) against some of the big boys in the market? It would be even better if the success of such a company was shared by its staff, rather than a small number of directors or PLC shareholders… We`re lucky to be recruiting for such a company who are interested to hear from experienced contracts managers to join their relatively new Oxford region. Here is a bit about them: + Customer focussed + Non contractual and collaborative attitude to business + Strong culture in the business on working as a team + Company wide bonus on the performance of the business (paid out last 5 years) + Happy to grow, but only within 1.5hrs of the regional offices What are we looking for? Ideally we`re looking for an experienced an ambitious project manager to join the build division. This team works on projects ranging from around £5m - £20m. They`re a mixture of design and build and traditional procurement. As mentioned previously, this is a business with a collaborative and non contractual attitude to their customers. They value long-term relationships and working with their customers and supply chain rather than against them. What will you be doing in the role? Typically a project manager will take ownership of single projects. This varies project by project, but sometimes you will be involved in the preconstruction elements including being a major part of a bid, and attending tender interviews. You will manage schemes against an agreed programme of works, including working on some of the short-term programming. This will include taking a lead on design issues, buildability, client updates and queries, and working with consultants as required. On site you will take a lead, but have staff in place to manage elements of the project as per the requirements of the job. You will ensure safety, quality, and achieve practical completion on time and within the agreed budgets. What do you need to apply? A project management background, with the majority of your experience working for a main contractor (as project lead). You will have a proactive approach to management, and a focus on customers and collaboration with all parties. You`ll need your CSCS Managers Card, SMSTS, and First Aid as minimum. Additional qualifications and training are advantageous but aren`t essential. Please apply as directed and we will process your application and be in touch
