Birch Tree Northern Limited is a construction company based in Killingworth, Newcastle upon Tyne.

We undertake all aspects of commercial building works - including dilapidation, refurbishment, roofing works, planned and reactive maintenance.

We are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to join our growing and fast paced company.

Summary

The Contracts Manager will liaise extensively with the site management team to ensure the successful execution of multiple projects in accordance with the planned programme. Close monitoring of progress is imperative to ensure that all works are completed on time and within budget.

The Contracts Manager will be the primary contact to our clients and will have overall responsibility for all projects from an administrative perspective.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate work programmes - site specific
• Monitor project progression - identify any variations
• Work collaboratively with contracts team in labour allocation
• Arrange welfare and sanitation facilities where applicable
• Order and arrange distribution of materials
• Raise sub-contractor orders from company approved list
• Good knowledge of H&S legislation, CDM etc.
• Undertake risk and COSHH assessments as required - monitor
• Generate and distribute RAMS
• Implement Company Site Health and Safety policy
• Manage site-based employees and sub-contractors - allocation of responsibility
• Mandatory site inspections
• Ensure site staff observe safety policies including use of PPE
• Financial control in accordance with quotation
• Assist in preparation of interim claims
• Collate financial information for weekly review meeting
• Provide line management to employees

Salary: Negotiable

Job type: Full time with probation period - wage review after 6 months inclusive of £350 car allowance and phone allowance

Hours: 8 hours/day - Monday to Friday
