The Sales Planner supports the regional sales teams by managing responses to digital sales briefs, setting up campaigns and working with Ad Operations on campaign implementation, optimisation and technical troubleshooting. Working closely with Ad Operations, the Sales Planner provides in-depth knowledge of internal technical processes and digital solutions, and draws on this information to educate the sales team(s). Sales Planners also have a technical and commercial perspective on new digital products and commercial opportunities.
Managing Digital Sales Campaigns
Respond to advertising briefs from agencies/clients and work closely with sales to develop options and propose solutions.
Provide information for proactive pitches.
Launching and Implementing Campaigns
Work closely with Ad Operations to set up and launch campaigns on time and in line with client expectations.
Review revenue and inventory data to check that placements are delivering to expectations.
Technical Troubleshooting and Campaign Optimisation
With Ad Operations, conduct technical troubleshooting and resolve any issues identified.
Monitor campaign performance and optimise campaigns to increase effectiveness and audience reach.
Establish relationships with key contacts in clients/agencies to facilitate the smooth implementation of campaigns.
Liaise with agencies to promote the BBC digital proposition and educate them on digital products and opportunities.
Developing Professional Capability
Agree a development plan with the Account Director to increase capability in line with business needs.
Keep up-to-date with industry trends, new product developments and the competition to develop a reputation as a digital advocate and advisor within the sales team.
Strategic Planning & Decision Making
Respond to agency/client briefs, develop options to propose solutions.
Monitor inventory availability and books campaigns.
