About the Role of Business Development Manager

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a UK-based manufacturer specialising in wireless sensor hardware for IoT, building management, and energy monitoring systems. This role is ideal for someone with strong B2B sales experience in IoT, smart building, or connected hardware technologies.

You will be responsible for developing new business with system integrators, OEMs, consultants, and solution providers within the IoT and smart building sectors. The position offers hybrid working from our Nottingham office.

Key Responsibilities for the Business Development Manager

Identify, qualify, and close B2B sales opportunities with IoT solution providers and system integrators.
Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline through outbound prospecting, networking, and inbound lead follow-up.
Engage with technical and commercial decision-makers to align sensor hardware with customer platforms and solutions.
Deliver tailored presentations and product demos to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Collaborate with internal product, technical, and marketing teams to support deal progression and onboarding.
Use CRM software (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) to maintain accurate sales records and pipeline reporting.
Support growth of channel and distribution partner networks (desirable). Essential Requirements for the Business Development Manager

Proven B2B business development or technical sales experience in IoT, smart buildings, or related technology sectors.
Strong technical understanding of wireless sensors, connectivity, platforms, and IoT ecosystem integration.
Consultative sales approach and excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience managing full sales cycles independently.
Familiarity with CRM tools such as HubSpot or Salesforce. Desirable Skills

Knowledge of wireless protocols including EnOcean, LoRa, Zigbee, or similar.
Experience working with distributors, value-added resellers (VARs), or channel partners.
Background in engineering, electronics, or technical presales. Benefits
