Packing Machine Operator - Stockport (SK1)

Hours: 40 per week, Monday-Friday, 8:30-16:30 (paid 40‑minute lunch)
Salary: £13.45 per hour
Contract: Permanent, full-time

Role Overview:
We're looking for a hands-on Packing Machine Operator to join our production team. You'll operate and maintain a vertical form-fill-seal (VFFS) packing machine, ensuring accurate, efficient packing of powdered products. The role involves some physical activity, including lifting up to 20kg and moving around the warehouse.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate, set up, and adjust VFFS machinery

• Conduct quality checks (weight, seal integrity, batch coding)

• Troubleshoot minor machine issues and escalate when needed

• Palletise, label, and store finished goods

• Assist with stock control of packaging materials

• Maintain a clean, organised workspace

• Keep accurate records in line with food safety standards

Skills & Attributes:

• Reliable with strong timekeeping

• Attention to detail and pride in high-quality work

• Positive attitude and willingness to learn

• Practical and hands-on approach

Experience:

• Previous VFFS or production experience is desirable but not essential

• Food production or manufacturing experience is a plus

• Training provided for Food Safety Level 2, LEAN manufacturing, and ongoing development
