Job Title: Health and Safety Advisor
Reporting to: Health, Safety & Environmental Manager and Head of Health, Safety & Environmental

Role Overview:
Our client is looking for a proactive and knowledgeable Health and Safety Advisor to support the delivery, monitoring, and continuous improvement of health and safety practices across our sites. You'll work closely with the Health, Safety & Environmental (HS&E) Manager, contributing to the creation and review of method statements, risk assessments (fire risk, COSHH, vibration, noise), construction phase plans, and policy documents.

In this role, you'll liaise with all levels of the organisation—from site teams to management—providing guidance, ensuring compliance, and fostering a strong safety culture. You'll also play a key part in implementing and maintaining our internal health and safety management system.

Health and Safety Advisor Key Responsibilities:

* Identify training and requalification needs for site staff in line with the company training matrix.

* Carry out regular site visits to monitor activities, assess compliance, and report findings.

* Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders; attend relevant meetings.

* Investigate incidents, determine root causes, recommend corrective actions, and ensure follow-up.

* Prepare and share regular health and safety alerts.

* Work with technical, quality, and contracts teams to ensure procedures and manuals meet all H&S requirements.

* Assist in maintaining ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications.

* Deputise for the H&S Manager as needed.

* Attend site surveys, handovers, and ongoing project meetings.

* Support the development and communication of health and safety strategies, policies, and procedures.

* Conduct inspections and audits—both scheduled and ad hoc—to monitor compliance.

* Support site teams in addressing non-compliance issues.

* Report and record incidents, accidents, and near misses in accordance with company procedures.

* Stay updated on legislation, regulations, and best practice in the industry.

* Prepare method statements, risk assessments, and other project H&S documentation.

* Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, stakeholders, and subcontractors regarding H&S matters.

Health and Safety Advisor Skills & Qualifications:

* Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and 14001.

* Detailed understanding of CDM Regulations 2015.

* Familiarity with Work at Height Regulations 2005, TG20-21, and SG4 NASC requirements.

* Experience with SSIP schemes and accreditation maintenance.

* Skilled in delivering training and presentations.

* NEBOSH Certificate in Construction (essential).

* IOSH qualification (preferable).

* NEBOSH Fire Certificate and NEBOSH National Diploma/GradIOSH (advantageous but not essential).

* Solid understanding of the construction and insulation industry.

* CSCS card holder.

* Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

* Experience with iAuditor software (advantageous).
