As we continue to grow, we are looking for a dedicated Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team and help maintain accurate financial records, ensuring the continued financial health and success of our company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including double-entry bookkeeping using Sage Accounts.
- Record journal entries and maintain accurate financial records.
- Perform monthly accounts reconciliation to ensure all financial data is up-to-date and accurate.
- Record Petty cash expenses and credit card expenses
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, payments, and collections.
- Manage day-to-day credit control activities, ensuring timely collection of outstanding payments and reducing the risk of bad debt.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, fostering trust and open communication to facilitate smoother payment processes.
- Optimise cash flow through effective management of receivables and payables.
- Perform weekly forecasting
- Prepare and file quarterly VAT returns in compliance with tax regulations.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant financial standards and regulatory requirements.
- Perform weekly financial forecasting and provide insights into potential cash flow challenges.
- Manage the entire invoice and credit note lifecycle from creation to resolution.
- Collaborate with the accountants to provide necessary documentation and support for Financial Reporting Period.
- Review and verify logistics invoices for accuracy, ensuring they align with agreed-upon rates and terms.
- Dispute any discrepancies with logistics providers and follow up on resolutions.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
- Strong knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping principles and accounting software (experience with Sage Accounts is preferred).
- Solid understanding of financial regulations and accounting standards (e.g., VAT, tax returns).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and other financial tools.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with other departments.
- Ability to build a strong relationship with Suppliers and Customers.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar role.
