Our public sector client are looking for a Housing Administration Officer to join them.

Location - Loughborough (2 days office, 3 days WFH)

Pay Rate - £12.68ph

Job Purpose

To administer and progress damp, mould, and disrepair cases within Council-owned housing, supporting improvements to property conditions and contributing to the effective defence of disrepair claims. The role delivers a responsive, fair, and inclusive service to all customers.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Administer systems to record, track, and resolve damp, mould, and disrepair cases, including handling related queries and complaints with sensitivity, particularly where vulnerable individuals are involved.

Work collaboratively with colleagues, technical officers, contractors, and Legal Services to progress cases and ensure timely resolution.

Support initiatives to prevent damp, mould, and disrepair across housing stock, and assist with the effective management and monitoring of contracts.

Collect and analyse data to produce management and performance information.

Engage with customers, respond to enquiries, and support complaint handling and resolution.

Undertake additional duties appropriate to the role as required.

Person Specification

Qualifications

GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade C/Level 4 or above, or demonstrable relevant experience.

Experience

Experience in clerical or office administration, working with computerised systems and Microsoft Office, and delivering customer-focused services. Experience within a social housing or repairs environment is desirable.

Skills and Knowledge

* Ability to communicate clearly with customers and explain information in an accessible way

* Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage workloads

* Good written and numeracy skills

* Ability to accurately input and extract data from systems and spreadsheets

* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

* Knowledge of housing repairs or social housing processes (desirable)

Interpersonal Skills

* Methodical approach with strong attention to detail

* Self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative

* Able to work accurately under pressure with minimal supervision

* Professional, friendly but firm approach when dealing with customers and stakeholders

* Commitment to improving customer service
