Masterclass are working with an inclusive Secondary school dedicated to supporting young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH), providing a tailored approach to help them thrive within their education. They believe in promoting the academic, emotional, and personal growth of every student.

The Role

We are seeking a passionate and empathetic Teaching Support Assistant to join the team. In this role, you will work closely with students, teachers, and other professionals to create a supportive and engaging learning environment. Your focus will be on helping students with SEMH needs achieve their full potential academically.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs in the classroom and beyond.

* Assist teachers in adapting lessons and resources to meet the individual needs of students.

* Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.

* Implement strategies to manage challenging behaviours effectively and empathetically.

* Build trusting relationships with students to support their emotional well-being and self-confidence.

* Collaborate with parents, carers, and external professionals to create comprehensive support plans.

* Monitor and report on student progress, adapting approaches as necessary.

What we are looking for:

*

* Someone with experience working with children or young people, those with SEMH needs is desired but not essential.

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

* Strong resilience levels, someone who can deal with challenging behaviours in a calm manner.

* Patience and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners.

Masterclass Education provide CPD recognised online training, covering subjects such as Safeguarding, Autism Awareness, Understanding Child Development, Violence Reduction, and more, to all of our candidates.

Must have:

* Ability to work well independently and as a team

* Has a passion to support and empower children and young people

* A DBS on the Updates Service, or be willing to obtain one

* Commitment to safeguarding students and young people

* Holds GCSE'S in Maths & English grade A*-C 4-9 or equivalent
