We are looking for a proactive Health & Safety Advisor to support the Health & Safety Manager and wider Group H&S function in maintaining a safe, compliant and progressive working environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about health and safety who is keen to develop their career — training will be provided.
As Health and safety advisor you will help ensure compliance with current Health & Safety legislation, guidance and best practice while promoting a strong safety culture across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Promote H&S best practice and encourage continual improvement, including near-miss reporting
* Support development and delivery of employee H&S training
* Assist Health & Safety committees and attend meetings
* Work with managers on risk assessments, ensuring timely completion in line with procedures
* Maintain H&S systems including accident reporting and COSHH compliance
* Support internal audits, identifying improvements to systems and procedures
* Collect, analyse and report H&S data, identifying trends and recommending actions
* Assist accident investigations under guidance of the H&S Manager
* Deliver Toolbox Talks and communicate safety information effectively
* Ensure compliance with ISO standards, HR policies, and contractual obligations
* Positively represent the company to customers and suppliers
* Contribute fully to performance and development programmes
About You
We're looking for someone enthusiastic about health and safety who enjoys working collaboratively and driving continuous improvement.
Essential / Preferred:
* IOSH membership desirable
* NEBOSH qualification (or working towards it)
* Experience within manufacturing, engineering, or chemicals environments beneficial
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Good Microsoft Office skills
* Ability to interpret H&S legislation and guidance
* Strong analytical and organisational skills
* Self-motivated team player
* Full UK driving licence
