Payroll Executive

A fantastic opportunity for an experienced payroller to join our company at a very exciting time. This new permanent role designed to co-ordinate a manual payroll process from operational teams through to the outsourced payroll company and providing a good experience for colleagues and support our nursery managers across our 37 sites across the North of England and Scotland.

Payroll Executive Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the provision of payroll services to ensure that the payroll payments are made accurately, on time and authorised.
• Liaise with nursery managers to ensure completeness and accuracy of submissions
• Liaise with our regional managers, managers and outsourced payroll team to resolve queries
• Support managers to deal with queries
• Liaise with finance team regarding the payment of payroll related matters
• Prioritise your own workload and require minimal supervision
• Support the business to improve our payroll process overall including implementing a new HR / Payroll system, processes and controls

Payroll Executive Requirements:

• Proven experience as a payroll coordinator or similar role
• A good understanding of SSP/SMP/SSP and tax codes
• Knowledge of various contracts incl term-time and zero hours
• Some knowledge of furlough and flexible payments
• Familiarity with payroll processes
• Good knowledge of legislation relevant to accounting and payroll
• Comfortable with Excel (functions, data etc.)
• An analytical mind with good math skills
• Strong communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail
