Hanson Lawrie are looking for an experienced Workshop Manager to organise and oversee our client's workshop and facilities. You will be ultimately responsible for the smooth running of all production lines and the quality of output, as well as warehousing and the goods in and out area.

We expect you to have know-how in production procedures, warehousing and can direct personnel towards maximum performance. Decision-making and problem-solving will take up a great part of your day, but the role is very hands on as it is a small team and you will be, soldering, undertaking assembly work, picking and packing, operating a forklift, undertaking deliveries as well as leading on process improvements.

The goal is to ensure an efficient and productive end to end process that meets customer requirements.

Responsibilities

Liaise with other managers to formulate objectives and understand requirements

Organise workflow to meet specifications and deadlines

Monitor production to resolve issues

Supervise and evaluate performance of production personnel (quality inspectors, workers etc.)

Maintenance of site and equipment

Ensure output meets quality standards

Enforce health and safety precautions

Requirements and skills

Proven experience managing a workshop or production facility

Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations

Knowledge of performance evaluation
