Service Manager – Day Centre

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and highly respected care organisation for an experienced Service Manager to lead Life Opportunities services for older adults.

This is a pivotal leadership role focused on delivering high-quality, person-centred support, driving continuous improvement, and developing high-performing teams within a values-led organisation.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Service, you will lead the day-to-day operations of services supporting older adults, ensuring care is safe, effective, responsive, and well-led in line with CQC standards and local authority expectations.

You will line manage Team Leaders, providing coaching, guidance, and support to enable them to deliver outstanding services. You will also play a key role in shaping service development, promoting co-production, and maintaining a strong presence within the local community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage service delivery to ensure high-quality, person-centred care
  • Drive a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture
  • Line manage and develop Team Leaders, supporting performance and progression
  • Ensure compliance with CQC regulations and quality assurance frameworks
  • Promote a co-production approach, involving individuals, families, and carers
  • Build strong partnerships with local communities and stakeholders
  • Oversee safeguarding, risk management, and care planning processes
  • Monitor performance, audits, and reporting to support continuous improvement
  • Manage complex situations including complaints and service challenges
  • Contribute to strategic planning, service development, and organisational goals
About You
  • Proven experience as a Service Manager or senior leader within health & social care
  • Strong knowledge of CQC standards, safeguarding, and relevant legislation
  • Experience supporting older adults, including those living with dementia
  • Passion for person-centred care and continuous service improvement
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop teams
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
  • A proactive, solution-focused approach
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
