Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 per annum

NLB Solutions are working with a Financial Services business in Hertfordshire that are looking to recruit for a Financial Controller. The business has several entities and need some that has experience of working within the Financial Services sector and dealing with all aspects of FSA/FCA reporting and managing the processes of clients’ money. They require someone that is a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), ideally 5 years PQE .

This role will be suited for someone that has worked in a fast-paced environment that is now looking for role that is more locally based with a great office experience. The business does offer an excellent work life balance as well as great offices that are close to local services and transport links. The role will need someone that has been used to supporting and managing a team and encouraging growth within the teams that they have managed.

Duties:

  • To provide leadership of the Company Accounts Team, circa 2 staff
  • To fulfil all financial reporting requirements e.g. monthly management accounts, quarterly forecasts, annual budgets
  • To be the focal point on the external statutory and CASS audits.
  • To comply with all regulatory filings - FCA, CASS and HMRC
  • To manage the company’s annual audits in ensuring Statutory Accounts completion by October each year
  • To ensure all company insurance policies are fit for purpose, accurate and policy renewals are completed in a timely manner.
  • To ensure Corporate Governance report is updated and published monthly at Steering and Board Meetings.
  • To adhere to all measures within the ISO27001 standard, ensuring Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability at all times.
  • To preserve the integrity of the financial records and maintain robust financial controls
  • To raise organisational financial awareness

Person Spec:

  • At least 5 years PQE, in financial services industry
  • Knowledge of financial services markets, current developments and products including investments and insurance products
  • Knowledge of FCA regulatory requirements
  • Degree holder, fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA), Top 10 firm trained
  • Strong leadership, inter-personal, organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a pressurised and fast moving environment
  • Ability to adapt to change with a flexible approach
  • Experienced in financial accounting and FP&A
  • Knowledge of HMRC requirements and reporting
