Are you a hands-on, part-qualified Management Accountant looking for a broad, fast-paced role where you can truly make an impact?Reed Accountancy is partnering with a well-established international property development business who are seeking an energetic and detail-driven Management Accountant to cover a 14-month maternity contract.

Reporting to the Commercial Group Finance Manager, you will take full responsibility for the financial management, reporting and control of one of the group’s UK entities. You’ll act as the key finance point-of-contact during the maternity leave period, working closely with senior finance leaders and supporting the wider group with consolidations and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Teamwork & Day-to-Day Finance Support
- Work closely with the Finance Manager and Finance Director on financial reporting, year-end audit and daily queries.
- Oversee the Accounts Assistant, ensuring accurate and timely processing of:
- Purchase & sales ledgers
- Bank reconciliations
- Credit card reconciliations
- Weekly P&L postings
- Purchase invoice approvals
- Support the management of aged debtors and creditors, resolving overdue items.
- Collaborate with the wider finance team to ensure accurate month-end and year-end reporting.
- Support the parent company with group consolidation activities.
Intercompany & Corporate Accounting
- Prepare, review, reconcile and distribute monthly intercompany accounts.
- Prepare quarterly VAT returns for group submission.
- Review overseas quarterly accounts and submit final versions to the Company Secretary.
- Complete ad-hoc reports and analysis as required.
Month-End Close
- Prepare and post month-end journals, including interest calculations.
- Maintain multicurrency overseas project borrowing and interest trackers (EUR, PLN, GBP).
- Review and process company expenses in line with policy.
Quarter-End Close & Commercial Analysis
- Prepare quarterly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
- Post quarter-end journals including accruals, prepayments and adjustments.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
- Provide commercial insight, analysing trends and challenging assumptions.
- Support with annual budgeting and rolling forecasts.
Balance Sheet Control
- Perform and review detailed balance sheet reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain clear, audit-ready documentation.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA) or actively studying.
- Experienced in management accounting and month-end processes.
- Confident with intercompany accounting and balance sheet control.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on, fast-moving environment.
- Strong MS Excel skills, experienced in analysing data and driving insight.
- A team player with excellent communication and organisational skills.
