Schools across Leeds are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Classroom Assistants to join their teams from September 2025.

This is a rewarding opportunity to play a crucial role in fostering a positive and effective learning atmosphere, working alongside teachers to help pupils achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities May Include:

  • Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and learning activities.
  • Providing individualised attention and assistance to pupils, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), to ensure they can access the curriculum.
  • Assisting with the preparation of classroom materials and resources.
  • Helping to create a stimulating and well-organised classroom environment.
  • Supporting pupils' social and emotional development, promoting positive behaviour.
  • Assisting with the monitoring and recording of pupil progress.
  • Supervising pupils during activities, break times, and school trips, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
  • Communicating effectively with teachers, other staff members, and occasionally parents/carers.
  • Adhering to all school policies and procedures, with a strong commitment to safeguarding.

We Are Looking For Individuals Who Have:

  • Previous experience working with children in an educational setting (highly desirable).
  • A genuine passion for education and a desire to make a positive impact on children's lives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and adults.
  • Patience, empathy, and a caring and supportive nature.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and also use their own initiative.
  • A proactive, flexible, and enthusiastic approach to work.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare, or Education) are advantageous but not always essential for all roles.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
