Schools across Leeds are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Classroom Assistants to join their teams from September 2025.
This is a rewarding opportunity to play a crucial role in fostering a positive and effective learning atmosphere, working alongside teachers to help pupils achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities May Include:
- Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and learning activities.
- Providing individualised attention and assistance to pupils, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), to ensure they can access the curriculum.
- Assisting with the preparation of classroom materials and resources.
- Helping to create a stimulating and well-organised classroom environment.
- Supporting pupils' social and emotional development, promoting positive behaviour.
- Assisting with the monitoring and recording of pupil progress.
- Supervising pupils during activities, break times, and school trips, ensuring their safety and wellbeing.
- Communicating effectively with teachers, other staff members, and occasionally parents/carers.
- Adhering to all school policies and procedures, with a strong commitment to safeguarding.
We Are Looking For Individuals Who Have:
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting (highly desirable).
- A genuine passion for education and a desire to make a positive impact on children's lives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and adults.
- Patience, empathy, and a caring and supportive nature.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team and also use their own initiative.
- A proactive, flexible, and enthusiastic approach to work.
- Good literacy and numeracy skills.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare, or Education) are advantageous but not always essential for all roles.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
