Our client, a beautifully appointed luxury care home set in a peaceful residential area, is looking for a talented and compassionate Sous Chef to join their dedicated hospitality team.

As a Sous Chef, you'll work closely with the Head Chef to create varied and balanced menus that meet dietary requirements, including modified textures, special diets, and allergy-aware meals. You'll support the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen, helping to maintain exceptional food standards while ensuring compliance with food hygiene and health & safety regulations.

 

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working as a Sous Chef or in a similar senior kitchen role
  • Previous experience in a care home or healthcare setting is essential
  • Understanding of dietary requirements, allergens, and textured-modified diets
  • A genuine passion for food and caring for others
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene (or willingness to achieve)
  • Team player with good communication skills and a positive attitude

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present high-quality meals tailored to residents’ dietary needs
  • Work collaboratively with the Head Chef and care team to ensure mealtimes are enjoyable and nourishing
  • Adapt recipes for individuals with special diets, including allergens, soft food diets, and diabetic-friendly meals
  • Ensure kitchen cleanliness, stock rotation, and food safety are consistently upheld
  • Support with ordering supplies and managing kitchen records
  • Contribute to menu planning, incorporating seasonal and resident-led choices
