We are seeking a senior Head of Product (Hardware) to lead the development and assurance of advanced defence hardware products. You will guide products across their full life cycle, ensuring engineering excellence, compliance, and delivery across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the hardware product authority across the Defence Unit
Provide governance, guidance, and assurance from concept to in-service support
Oversee life cycle reviews, technical boards, and gated processes
Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and operations teams
Drive continuous improvement and optimise hardware IP value
Escalate technical or delivery risks to senior leadership
Skills & Experience
Proven experience in hardware product development in defence, aerospace, or regulated environments
Experience as a technical or design authority on complex products
Knowledge of full product life cycle management, TRLs, and engineering governance
Strong stakeholder management across technical and non-technical teams
Degree in electronic engineering (or related) and 5+ years' systems engineering experience
Desirable
Experience in defence electronics, EW, RF, or sensing
Familiarity with UK MOD life cycle models (CADMID)
Experience influencing engineering processes at organisational level
Senior role shaping hardware product strategy in a high-impact defence environment, offering hybrid working and exposure to cutting-edge technology.
