Long Term Futures is seeking a resilient and proactive Teaching Assistant to support students at a specialist Alternative Provision in Sherwood (NG5). The setting caters to young people in Key Stages 3 and 4 who face behavioural, emotional and social challenges and require a more personalised, structured approach to learning.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in behaviour support or youth mentoring who wants to make a tangible difference outside of a mainstream classroom.

What You'll Be Doing

Working 1:1 with students to provide tailored classroom and behavioural support
Supporting behaviour management strategies set by senior staff and pastoral leads
Helping students develop social and emotional regulation strategies
Building trusted relationships that support long-term behavioural and academic growth
Supporting the implementation and monitoring of behaviour intervention plans
Being a positive, consistent role model throughout the school day

What We're Looking For

Experience working with children or young people with challenging behaviour, SEN, or SEMH
A calm, confident, and empathetic approach to behaviour support
Previous experience in a school, PRU, youth work, or similar setting (desirable)
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A proactive, patient attitude and the ability to work well under pressure
