Our client is looking for an experienced Commissioning Information Officer.

The Brokerage team is responsible for sourcing packages of care and placements for vulnerable adults and children. Brokerage is part of the Commissioning directorate; Commissioning is responsible for deciding on how to use the resources available in order to achieve and improve outcomes in the most efficient, equitable and sustainable way.
Key Responsibilities (Facilitating Care and Reporting)
• To acquire, record and circulate hospital escalation status information (The post holder will, at all times, be aware of each hospitals OPEL status)
• To liaise with providers for assessment dates and assessment outcomes and reduce delays attributable to communication issues.
• To liaise with providers to identify the dates and outcomes for hospital patients’ assessments to minimise the time taken to get an offer from a provider
• To be proactive in updating commissioners and senior managers daily so that information is ready for meetings and phone calls
• To be the single point of contact for commissioners and senior managers to support escalation and escalation phone calls following through on any actions with relevant providers, commissioners, operational staff or brokerage and updating ready for the next meeting/ call.

Key Responsibilities (Bed Management)
• To work together with the Brokerage team, internal customers and providers to implement a bed management system for placements for vulnerable adults
• To improve visibility of voids and vacancies for block, framework and spot placements
• To improve the timeliness of information to meet the business needs of internal customers
• To identify current bed vacancies for each block care home and keep this information up to date (The post holder will be up to date as to where vacancies exist and use this knowledge to help direct referrals for assessment)
• To take a ‘step ahead’ approach to help maximise the use of Winter Pressure Beds - working closely with the hospital managers to match suitable patients to arising vacancies both for Medically Fit for Discharge (MFFD) patients and where appropriate and under the guidance of hospital managers where MFFD is anticipated for patients.
• To work with Intermediate Care Teams (ICT) to ensure that information in relation to winter pressure and ICT beds is readily available
