Robert Half Finance & Accounting are recruiting on behalf of a thriving business in Leeds that's seeking a Financial Controller to lead its finance function. This is a classic Financial Controller role offering the opportunity to shape financial strategy, manage a small team, and support the business through its next phase of growth.
The Role:
Reporting to the Finance Director you'll be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial and management accounting, ensuring robust financial controls, and providing strategic insight to support decision-making. You'll report directly to the senior leadership team and play a key role in driving performance and efficiency across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the finance team, ensuring high performance and development
- Oversee the production of monthly management accounts and financial reporting
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and liaise with external auditors
- Develop and maintain financial controls and processes
- Provide commercial insight and support strategic planning
- Partner with operational teams to drive business performance
About You:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA)
- Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role within an SME
- Strong technical and commercial acumen
- Experience managing and developing finance staff
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Hands-on approach with the ability to operate strategically and tactically
