OVERVIEW As a Construction Superintendent you will be responsible for work in progress. Joining the project life cycle at the pre-construction stage and ending at project close out, you will be responsible for facilitating the flow of work through coordination of materials, sub-contractors, vendors, etc. as required to successfully complete the project on schedule and within budget. This includes maintaining documentation, quality control, supervising all trade and field personnel while administering good construction safety practices with all on-site activities. Working as a team, you will keep the Project Manager informed of project conditions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty to a high standard;
Managing good business to business vendor/sub-contractor relationships
Conduct and maintain Safety training, records, and equipment
Maintain documentation - daily logs, schedules, checklists, punch lists, permits & inspections, etc.
Inspection of work in progress to insure high quality standards and adherence to local codes
Providing high-impact Communication to all project team members
Able to identify pertinent Local, County, State, and/or Federal government regulations
Other duties as may be assigned
QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to fulfill the obligations of this position successfully. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE DESIRED
High School Diploma or Equivalent, Associates Degree. College Degree Preferred
10+ Years’ experience in successfully managing construction projects
Certifications in OSHA regulations, safety, equipment, and general industry standard training
OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES REQUIRED
The candidate must be able to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times primarily as it relates to interactions with fellow employees, clients, vendors and, others whom assist us in our operations. Additionally, the Candidate is expected to insure their attire is in accordance with a professional environment.
Candidate must possess excellent communication skills to include written, oral and interpersonal skills.
Proficient use of technology and all major office-related computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software (Microsoft Office or similar) are required. Further the applicant must be comfortable with cloud based operations, not merely computer based ones. Additionally, training on company specific software will be required therefore, the Candidate must be willing and committed to learning and becoming proficient in new software programs quickly.
This position is primarily a field based position with some office based work as required. In addition, the primary work environment requires the Candidate frequently be exposed to the physical environment which includes, but is not limited too; weather extremes, uneven terrain, loud noises, dust, and other job site conditions. You will also be required to exert physical efforts in handling objects, such as carrying or handling materials. Candidates will also be required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (such as keyboard, machine operation, etc.) part of the work day.
