Are you a hands-on engineering professional ready to take the next step into leadership?

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing company is looking for a proactive Engineering Team Leader to support and develop its engineering function during a key period of transformation. Working closely with the Engineering Manager and production teams, you’ll drive performance, reduce downtime, and help move the department from reactive to preventative maintenance.

About the Role

Title: Engineering Team Leader

Role: Full time, permanent

Location: Litherland, Liverpool

Salary: up to £52K per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday - day time shift schedule

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise day-to-day activities of the engineering team, allocating tasks and tracking performance using a CMMS.
  • Support delivery of KPIs including OEE, MTBF, MTTR, and maintenance compliance.
  • Collaborate with production to identify causes of downtime and implement lasting corrective actions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, capital expenditure planning, and the rollout of preventative maintenance programs.
  • Champion a safe, clean, and efficient working environment in line with health & safety standards.
Key Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing setting, with exposure to automated machinery and fault diagnostics.
  • Electrically and mechanically trained.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Skilled in using and developing CMMS systems and understanding maintenance KPIs.
  • Confident communicator who can lead a team and liaise with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering; apprenticeship background preferred.
