Streamline Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Transport Planner to join a well-established company based in Tilbury.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced planner who thrives in a busy environment and enjoys taking ownership of transport operations. You'll be part of a supportive team, with the flexibility to split some of your hours between the office and home.

Key responsibilities include:

* Planning and scheduling daily transport operations, ensuring drivers and vehicles are utilised efficiently.

* Booking time slots and managing VBS requirements, liaising with ports and depots as needed.

* Monitoring live operations, resolving any delays, disruptions, or breakdowns quickly and effectively.

* Coordinating directly with drivers, providing clear instructions and support throughout their shifts.

* Keeping customers updated on progress, delivery times, and any changes to schedules.

* Ensuring compliance with driver hours, working time directives, and operational policies.

* Maintaining accurate records and updating planning systems throughout the shift.

* Supporting weekend on-call duties (1 in 5 weekends), ensuring urgent bookings and queries are managed.

* Collaborating with colleagues to ensure a smooth handover and consistent service levels.

* Identifying opportunities to improve routes, cut costs, and enhance efficiency without compromising service

What we're looking for:

* Previous experience as a Transport Planner within a busy logistics/haulage environment

* Strong knowledge of UK road networks, port operations, and VBS systems

* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work well under pressure

Details:

Hours: 14:00 - 23:00 (1-hour break). Office-based 14:00-19:00, with flexibility to work from home for the final hours (phone must be answered for VBS and operational needs).

Monday to Friday, plus 1 in every 5 weekends on-call

£35,000 - £38,000 (depending on experience)
