As Office Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the smooth daily running of the school's administrative and support functions. You will lead a small office team, liaise with senior leadership, and be the first point of contact for parents, visitors, and external agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

*

Lead and manage day-to-day operations of the school office, including line management of admin support staff.

*

Act as the primary contact for all administrative, admissions, attendance, and safeguarding record-keeping processes.

*

Ensure all statutory returns (e.g. school census, workforce census) are completed accurately and on time.

*

Oversee the maintenance of pupil records using MIS platforms such as Arbor, SIMS, ScholarPack, or Integris.

*

Manage school communications, including newsletters, parent messaging systems, and website updates.

*

Support the Headteacher and SLT with diary management, correspondence, and key policy administration.

*

Handle basic financial administration (invoices, petty cash, orders) in line with school and LA procedures.

*

Uphold GDPR, health and safety, and safeguarding procedures at all times.

Essential Requirements:

*

Proven experience in a school-based office leadership role (minimum 2 years).

*

Excellent working knowledge of school MIS systems (Arbor, SIMS, etc.).

*

Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

*

Calm under pressure with the ability to multi-task and prioritise competing deadlines.

*

Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and web-based platforms.

*

A clear understanding of school safeguarding and data protection responsibilities.

*

A proactive, warm, and approachable manner when dealing with parents and staff.

Desirable:

*

Experience managing small teams.

*

Knowledge of HR processes or finance systems (SAP, FMS, etc.).

*

First Aid or DSL training (or willingness to undertake training).
