We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Specialist Tutor to support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in Stockport. This role is perfect for a tutor who can provide both emotional support and tailored academic instruction, helping students to engage with their learning and overcome barriers to education.

In this role, you will support students with SEMH needs, Autism, ADHD, and other related challenges while delivering key Maths and English lessons to help them catch up academically. Flexibility in scheduling allows you to work around your availability while making a significant impact on the students educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one support for students with SEMH needs, focusing on emotional wellbeing, behaviour management, and confidence-building.
Deliver personalised Maths and English lessons that meet the student's academic needs and abilities.
Use positive behaviour management strategies to create a calm and productive learning environment.
Adapt teaching techniques based on the students emotional state and learning progress.
Build a trusting relationship with each student to encourage engagement and academic success.
Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to parents, carers, and relevant professionals.
Essential Requirements:
Minimum of 1 years experience working with students with SEMH needs.
Experience delivering Maths and/or English lessons at a functional or GCSE level.
Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build rapport with students facing emotional and academic challenges.
Right to work in the UK.
Must have, or be willing to obtain, an Enhanced DBS check.
Desirable Qualifications:
Teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS) or relevant experience in education or youth work.
Training in behaviour support, trauma-informed practice, or safeguarding.
Experience supporting students with Autism, ADHD, or other additional needs.
