Tax Assistant

London (Central), UK


JOB TYPE: Permanent, FullTime

SALARY: From £45,000 - £50,000 per annum + benefits

Reporting to the Tax Manager, the new Tax Assistant will be integral to the effective management of tax operations by supporting in the preparation of key tax returns and implementing new, robust regional tax policies.


Tax Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Generate all tax reports in preparation of the tax filings for the regional offices
  • Preparation and submission of all tax returns for the regional office
  • Reconciling the tax accounts for each office
  • Support in maintaining the taxation manual
  • Assistance with the annual audits
  • Support with the ongoing project in relation to the implementation of necessary tax levies
  • Assess the controls periodically and suggest changes in line with changing legislation
  • Work closely with the tax and compliance accountant to update the regulatory requirements for the Accounts and Billing Teams
  • Maintain Global Tax compliance calendar
  • Prepare/update territory summaries in real time
  • Ensure proposed tax payments are made on a timely basis
  • Ensure proposed tax return submissions are submitted on a timely basis
  • Prepare, send and monitor completion of a quarterly tax checklist


The candidate:

  • Qualified / Part Qualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • Minimum 1-2 years tax experience
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
  • Strong numeracy skills and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong time management and organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Good interpersonal skills and be able to work in a team
