Job Title: Electrical Engineer (JIB Approved)

Location: Cambridge – Static Site

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Electrical Engineer to join our clients team on a static site based in Cambridge. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified electrician to work in a stable environment while carrying out a variety of maintenance, installation, and inspection tasks.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on electrical systems, including emergency light testing
• Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults to minimise downtime and ensure safe operations
• Installing, modifying, and commissioning new electrical systems and wiring in line with regulations
• Conducting inspection, testing, and certification in compliance with statutory and company requirements
• Maintaining accurate records of work completed, including test certificates and compliance documentation
• Ensuring all electrical work complies with the latest IET Wiring Regulations (BS7671) and Health & Safety standards
• Supporting site projects, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Collaborating with the wider maintenance and engineering team to identify and deliver improvements
• Taking part in the on-call rota and responding to emergency breakdowns as required

Skills and experience required:

• Time-served and fully qualified electrician with NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation/Maintenance
• City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
• Inspection and Testing qualification (e.g. City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent) preferred
• Previous experience in electrical maintenance within industrial, commercial, or facilities environments
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematics
• Good understanding of Health & Safety and safe working practices
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
