Your New Role

As a Therapy Assistant, you'll play a key part in delivering specialist interventions and supporting students with a range of learning needs. Working closely with therapists, teachers, and the Learning Support team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and delivering one-to-one and small-group intervention sessions under the guidance of qualified therapists
  • Supporting students' learning, emotional development, and independence throughout the school day
  • Completing assessments and monitoring progress through observation and record-keeping
  • Helping embed therapeutic and specialist learning strategies within classrooms
  • Providing constructive feedback to students and contributing to reports and reviews
  • Assisting with resource preparation and general administrative tasks within the Learning Support department.
  • Supporting the use of ICT and helping students develop confidence in their learning tools
  • Contributing to wider school activities, duties, and events as part of the Learning Support team
  • Maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding responsibilities at all times

This role is ideal for someone who is calm, organised, and passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning.

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an educational or therapeutic setting
  • An understanding of additional learning needs or a willingness to undertake relevant training
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to adapt to individual student needs
