With a team of 5, they pride themselves on delivering high-quality, technically sound, and sustainable building services designs across a range of sectors including commercial, residential, and heritage to name but a few.
Due to consistent organic growth and an expanding project portfolio, they're embarking on an ambitious journey to double their team size by 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer looking to take a leading role within a growing consultancy, contribute to the long-term vision, and enjoy greater autonomy and responsibility.
Role Overview
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the delivery of mechanical building services design across a variety of projects. You'll take ownership of designs, liaise directly with clients and project teams, mentor junior engineers, and play an integral part in shaping the technical direction and culture of the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead mechanical design on a range of projects from concept through to completion.
* Carry out detailed mechanical design calculations and specifications.
* Attend and chair client meetings, design workshops, and site visits.
* Coordinate designs with other disciplines and stakeholders.
* Review and sign off drawings, reports, and tender packages.
* Support business development efforts, including input into bids and presentations.
* Mentor and support junior and intermediate engineers within the team.
* Contribute to internal processes, standards, and long-term business goals.
Requirements
* Degree-qualified in Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
* A minimum of 6 years' experience within a UK-based MEP consultancy / multidisciplinary or contractor environment.
* Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, CIBSE standards, and relevant design software (e.g., Hevacomp, IES, AutoCAD, Revit MEP).
* Proven track record of delivering high-quality mechanical design solutions across sectors such as commercial, residential, or heritage.
* Client-facing experience with strong communication and leadership skills.
* Chartered status or working toward Chartership (CEng) with CIBSE or IMechE preferred.

Working Schedule:
* 40 hour working week
