A London based leading housing association is seeking an Interim Director of Property Services to provide strategic leadership and operational management across all property-related functions. This is a key role focused on delivering high-quality housing services, ensuring compliance, and driving service excellence for residents.

Key duties:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of property services, including responsive repairs, voids, disrepair, planned maintenance, and compliance.
  • Develop and implement a robust asset management strategy that supports long-term sustainability and resident satisfaction.
  • Oversee procurement and performance of contractors, consultants, and supply chains to ensure cost-effective, high-quality delivery.
  • Ensure all works and services comply with statutory and regulatory requirements, including health & safety and building safety legislation.
  • Ensure a culture of resident engagement and customer service across all property functions.
  • Provide strong leadership to multi-disciplinary teams, supporting professional development and high performance.
  • Manage departmental budgets and ensure financial accountability and value for money.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to align service delivery with organisational goals.

Client Requirements:

  • Significant senior leadership experience in property services within a housing or related environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building maintenance, compliance, health & safety, and housing asset management.
  • Proven ability to lead complex service delivery, drive performance, and manage large-scale contracts.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to lead during periods of change and deliver measurable service improvements.
  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g. RICS, CIOB) or equivalent
