About the Role


We are seeking an experienced Data Cabling Engineer for a contract position in Manchester.
The role involves the installation, termination, and testing of Cat6 copper networks across commercial and industrial projects.
This position is perfect for a self-motivated contractor who delivers high-quality work while adhering to site safety standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Install Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6a structured cabling systems.

  • Terminate, test, and label copper data cabling.

  • Install containment systems including trunking, conduit, tray, and basket.

  • Mount and organize patch panels, cabinets, and network racks.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve network cabling issues.

  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations.

  • Work closely with project managers and site supervisors to meet deadlines.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Data Cabling Engineer.

  • Strong knowledge of Cat6 cabling standards and testing procedures.

  • Ability to read and work from technical drawings.

  • CSCS/ECS card required.

  • IPAF/PASMA certification advantageous.

  • Own hand tools, PPE, and transport.

  • Must be available for on-site work in Manchester.

Contract Details

  • Rate: £180 per day

  • Location: Manchester (on-site)

  • Hours: Monday-Friday, standard site hours (overtime may be available)

  • Contract Type: CIS or Limited Company
