About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Data Cabling Engineer for a contract position in Manchester.
The role involves the installation, termination, and testing of Cat6 copper networks across commercial and industrial projects.
This position is perfect for a self-motivated contractor who delivers high-quality work while adhering to site safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Install Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6a structured cabling systems.
Terminate, test, and label copper data cabling.
Install containment systems including trunking, conduit, tray, and basket.
Mount and organize patch panels, cabinets, and network racks.
Troubleshoot and resolve network cabling issues.
Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations.
Work closely with project managers and site supervisors to meet deadlines.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Data Cabling Engineer.
Strong knowledge of Cat6 cabling standards and testing procedures.
Ability to read and work from technical drawings.
CSCS/ECS card required.
IPAF/PASMA certification advantageous.
Own hand tools, PPE, and transport.
Must be available for on-site work in Manchester.
Contract Details
Rate: £180 per day
Location: Manchester (on-site)
Hours: Monday-Friday, standard site hours (overtime may be available)
Contract Type: CIS or Limited Company
