About the Role:Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting enthusiastic and reliable Cover Supervisors to work on a supply basis in secondary schools across Barnsley. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals seeking flexible work within education, whether you are an aspiring teacher, recent graduate, or experienced professional with strong behaviour management skills.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will deliver pre-set lessons in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring students remain engaged and on task.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise whole classes during teacher absences

• Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials and instructions

• Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment

• Manage behaviour in line with school policies

• Provide feedback to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour

Requirements:

• Experience working with young people (e.g., schools, tutoring, coaching, youth work)

• Strong communication and classroom management skills

• Ability to adapt quickly to new school environments

• A professional, flexible, and proactive approach

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Desirable:

• Degree-level education

• Previous experience in a secondary school setting
