Job Overview: On behalf of our client, a successful injection moulding and extrusion manufacturer, we are seeking to appoint a Health, Safety & Quality Manager to join their team.


* As a Health, Safety & Quality Manager you will have had a solid and steady career history as a Quality professional with good supervisory experience.

* This is a senior & integral role within the business and therefore man-management experience is essential.

* This role encompasses the full spectrum of quality management responsibilities including industry accreditation compliance standards and the overall management of product quality control disciplines across the entire value chain.

* The role of Quality Manager is to oversee the development and maintenance of health, safety and environmental quality standards ISO14001, ISO5001 & ISO45001

Main Duties:

* To maintain a risk matrix and conduct risk assessments across the Company, including specific assessments such as height, noise and PPE.

* To maintain an audit schedule and conduct/facilitate audits across the Company on all British Standards.

* To maintain a legislation and compliance register for Health, Safety and the Environment. To assess new and amended legislation for relevance and compliance.

* To maintain a PUWER register and complete timely PUWER assessments of relevant work equipment.

* To maintain monthly meeting agendas and minutes for health, safety and the environment for all areas of the business.

* To maintain and control a permit to work system.

* To maintain an asbestos management programme for the Company. To conduct annual fire risk assessments and provide a report to management.

* To maintain a matrix of external assessments and liaise with external providers for specialist assessments; translate results into actions for the Company.

* To investigate safety incidents and provide a report where required to top management.

* To ensure that all PPE meets the requirements of UK testing standards and is appropriate for use. To maintain and report on the Company's carbon footprint.

* To provide and annual health and safety report for shareholders and insurers.

* To conduct regular site tours and report on the findings.

* To maintain a safe system of work register and review/update with management as required. To maintain and report on departmental training matrices.

* To monitor the Company waste and Contractor systems for compliance.

* To complete annual tenant data submissions.

* To organise and maintain building Energy Performance Certificates.

* To conduct and maintain records of practice evacuations at all sites.

* To conduct new employee inductions on the management system.

* To maintain a Contractor management system and to conduct site inductions for Contractors and visitors as required.

* To conduct practice emergency drills (such as evacuations).

* To maintain a vibration register and monitor all equipment relevant to HAV and WBV risks.

* To conduct pallet racking inspections and provide reports on rack integrity.

* To work collaboratively with your Colleagues to achieve the attainment of any business aims and objectives.

* To undertake any activity as directed by the Line Management and within current skill range or training to support the introduction of new activities, attitudes, skills or knowledge and/or the demonstration of professional competence.

* At all times during employment to devote sufficient attention to the duties and activities required by this employment and to faithfully and diligently perform such duties and powers assigned to the job holder.

* To promote the interests of the Company and any Group Company at all times and to undertake any tasks in support of the Company's business objectives as a whole.


* Demonstrate a clear understanding of the implications / requirements and the application of the various health, safety, quality, waste and environmental standards along with experience in managing, and identifying improvements within the business.

* Hold a Foundation Degree or DipHE or HND Level 5 award, certificate, diploma or NVQ

* Can use various types of software associated to the job function as well as use of and defining requirements in the development of any bespoke software systems.

* Experience in the administrative and clerical work associated with the control of a management system, including appropriate recording and retrieval of data.

* An ability to communicate, provide appropriate policy and procedural documentation along with training and support, to enable the effective application of Company management systems.

* Experience of managing a Team and its performance to within procedure and to meet specific Company or business objectives / KPI's.

* Experience in project management to meet milestones that are created internally and externally
