A well-established independent school in Central London is seeking a reliable and adaptable Seasonal Grounds Person to join their Grounds team. The successful candidate will support the maintenance and preparation of playing surfaces and surrounding outdoor areas, ensuring high standards are maintained throughout the sporting season.

This is a hands-on role, working closely with internal staff and external users to ensure outdoor facilities are safe, well-presented, and fit for use.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain sports pitches, playing surfaces, and surrounding grounds to a high standard
• Prepare and mark sports areas for fixtures and training (including over-marking when required)
• Assemble, dismantle, and store sports equipment
• Operate and maintain grounds machinery and vehicles, including tractors and ride-on equipment
• Support irrigation systems and carry out routine stock checks
• Liaise with sports staff and external parties regarding pitch and equipment availability
• Follow health and safety procedures at all times
• Undertake additional duties in line with the needs of the site during peak periods

Essential:

• Previous experience in grounds maintenance
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
• UK driving licence
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Flexible and adaptable approach to work
