Salary: £38,000 - £48,000 per annum

A forward-thinking law firm based in Shrewsbury, renowned for delivering expert legal services is seeking a Child Care Solicitor 2 years plus PQE. The modern, well-equipped offices foster collaboration and professional development, offering an excellent environment for solicitors to grow their careers. This role offers hybrid working but does require 2-3 days in the office dependent on court commitments. 

The role

.You will join a reputable Child Care team providing expert legal advice and representation in all aspects of child care law, supporting clients through sensitive and complex matters while contributing to the continued growth of our practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on all aspects of child care law, including care proceedings, child protection and related family law matters.
  • Draft and review legal documents, statements and court applications.
  • Represent clients in court, including advocacy at hearings and case conferences.
  • Build strong client relationships, providing clear, compassionate and professional guidance.
  • Keep up to date with developments in family and child care law, sharing knowledge within the team.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues across the firm to ensure comprehensive client service.

Requirements

  • Qualified solicitor with 2 years’ PQE in child care/family law.
  • Strong advocacy and client advisory skills.
  • Sound knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and current child care law developments.
  • Excellent communication, drafting and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage a busy caseload independently while working collaboratively.
  • Commitment to professional development and best practice in family law.
