Small Group Intervention Work

Location: Chard

Pay Rate: £10.87 per hour

Position: Mornings only 4/5 days a week 

Start date: ASAP (Ongoing)

Teaching Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a partner school located in Chard. They are looking for an LSA to join their large friendly team, working as 1:1 support or small group work. You will be supporting English & Maths intervention. It will be important for you to have a strong classroom presence and be comfortable supporting challenging behaviour.

Experience working with children is desirable for this position, however if you do have experience supporting adults, or a relevant degree we would also love to hear from you. When working in small groups with pupils, the most important thing you need to do is get to know them. Find out about their strengths and weaknesses, their interests and hobbies and favourite topics. 

Essential requirements

A child only DBS - Subscribed to the update service (we can support this)
Hold a right to work document for the UK
Have two professional references.
Your role

Work closely with the class teacher and the SENCO to provide the best support possible
Promote and work towards independence
Create and manage a caring, supportive, purposeful and stimulating environment
Assisting in weaker areas, e.g. speech and language, reading, spelling, numeracy, handwriting/presentation etc
Consistently and effectively implementing agreed behaviour management strategies

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
