Cedar is partnered with an investor-backed renewables business to appoint an Interim Financial Controller. This is a 6-month contract offering £#removed# per day, outside IR35, based in London (West End).

The role sits within the group finance function and focuses on financial control, consolidation and compliance across a complex, international, multi-entity structure, with close interaction across senior leadership and operational teams. This Financial Controller role is based in London and requires strong on-site presence.

The business is scaling rapidly across multiple international markets, supported by significant capital investment and a pipeline of large-scale infrastructure projects. Operating through a network of international entities, the company is entering a phase of increased complexity, requiring enhanced financial control, reporting and governance.

Finance plays a central role in supporting both operational delivery and strategic growth, particularly across multi-jurisdictional projects and partnership structures.

The RoleThe Interim Financial Controller will take ownership of financial control, reporting and compliance across a broad international footprint, ensuring a robust and scalable finance function within a fast-paced, international environment.

The role combines technical accounting, consolidation and operational oversight, with responsibility for delivering accurate financial information, maintaining strong controls and supporting business performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the month-end close process across multiple entities
  • Owning complex journals, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Delivering consolidation across 30+ entities, including intercompany eliminations and reconciliations
  • Overseeing accounting for joint ventures and international operations, including coordination with external accounting partners
  • Ensuring high-quality management accounts and supporting FP&A analysis across key business lines
  • Managing statutory reporting under UK GAAP (FRS 102), alongside VAT, corporation tax and payroll compliance
  • Acting as a key point of contact for auditors and external advisors
  • Driving effective use of finance systems and ensuring integrity of financial data
  • Leading and developing a small finance team across transactional finance and FP&A
  • Supporting process improvement and strengthening financial controls across a growing international platform

Your Profile

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with strong financial control experience
  • Proven track record operating across multi-entity, international environments
  • Deep experience in consolidation, group reporting and technical accounting
  • Exposure to infrastructure, energy, renewables or capital-intensive sectors is advantageous
  • Comfortable operating in a high-growth, evolving business with increasing complexity
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented and delivery-focused
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across internal teams and external advisors

Compensation & Working ArrangementsThis role offers £#removed# per day, outside IR35, for an initial 6-month period. The role is based in London (West End). This is a high-impact assignment within a scaling, investor-backed renewables platform, offering exposure to complex international operations and large-scale infrastructure projects, with a day rate of £#removed# outside IR35.
