HSE Recruitment Network are recruiting for a Hydrogeologist, with the opportunity to represent a progressive company constructing a large portion of HS2. This is an exciting role reporting to the Groundwater Construction Lead.
 
The role will be focused on ensuring compliance through regular review and interpretation of surface groundwater monitoring data.

Main Responsibilities:

Play a key role in preparing and producing Quarterly Consent Reports.
Coordinate with BC to ensure all documentation meets compliance standards and is properly uploaded to BC and EB platforms.
Collaborate with the environmental and sustainability team to prepare and deliver essential documents, including Quarterly Reports, Groundwater Risk Assessments, Acrylamide Usage Reports, and Monitoring Plans.
Review all required consented and permitted monitoring activities.
Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) on data collection processes and documentation.
Submit water monitoring data to BBV (Sublot Environmental Teams and Water Specialists) as well as stakeholders such as the Environment Agency, DJV, and HS2.
Communicate with Sublot Water Specialists and Environment Managers during incident response situations.
Provide expert input into the development of site-specific monitoring plans.
Contribute specialist knowledge to site-specific groundwater risk assessments.
Coordinate with specialist teams for the drilling and installation of new monitoring wells
Work with subcontractors to ensure groundwater monitoring requirements are fulfilled and manage the installation and maintenance of stilling wells.
Undertake additional duties as required to support the wider environmental team 
Desirable Experience, Training and Qualifications:

·        Relevant degree or experience e.g. geology, geography, or environmental science.
·        Good understanding of environmental issues in a work environment   
·        An understanding of environmental legislation and principles of environmental management systems (phone number removed); ability to work as part of the team to ensure compliance.  
·        Experience of construction of large-scale infrastructure projects. 
·        Working towards or would like to start work towards membership of an appropriate Professional Institution would be an advantage (e.g. CIWEM, CEnv, FGS etc.)
