What You’ll Be Doing
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM), fault diagnosis, and reactive breakdown repair across a wide range of plant and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA.
- Maximise uptime on critical systems such as:
- Investment casting machinery
- Ceramic mould making systems
- Heat treatment furnaces
- VAR, ISM, and Air Melt Induction furnaces
- Support installation, commissioning, and upgrades of new and existing equipment.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective/preventative actions.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to meet operational targets.
- Maintain accurate records using our Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Ensure compliance with EHS standards and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
- Recognised electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
- 17th/18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations
- Proven experience in heavy manufacturing or foundry environments
- Strong electrical bias with mechanical aptitude
Hands-on experience with:
- High-temperature furnaces (VAR, ISM, Air Melt)
- PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley)
- AC/DC drives, sensors, instrumentation
- Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Desirable Extras
- Apprenticeship-trained in Electrical Engineering
- Experience with SCADA systems and data logging
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 / AS9100 environments
- Basic skills in mechanical fabrication, welding, or machining
