What You’ll Be Doing

  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM), fault diagnosis, and reactive breakdown repair across a wide range of plant and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA.
  • Maximise uptime on critical systems such as:
  • Investment casting machinery
  • Ceramic mould making systems
  • Heat treatment furnaces
  • VAR, ISM, and Air Melt Induction furnaces
  • Support installation, commissioning, and upgrades of new and existing equipment.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective/preventative actions.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to meet operational targets.
  • Maintain accurate records using our Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Ensure compliance with EHS standards and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

  • Recognised electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
  • 17th/18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations
  • Proven experience in heavy manufacturing or foundry environments
  • Strong electrical bias with mechanical aptitude

Hands-on experience with:

  • High-temperature furnaces (VAR, ISM, Air Melt)
  • PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley)
  • AC/DC drives, sensors, instrumentation
  • Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Desirable Extras

  • Apprenticeship-trained in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with SCADA systems and data logging
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 / AS9100 environments
  • Basic skills in mechanical fabrication, welding, or machining
