We are looking for an experienced and motivated Team Manager to lead a fast-paced warehouse operation, ensuring exceptional service delivery and strong operational performance. This role is ideal for someone seeking real career progression, with a clear pathway toward a senior leadership role.
About the Role
You will be responsible for managing end-to-end daily warehouse operations, ensuring customer commitments are met while driving a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. You’ll lead and inspire a team, promote company values, and help shape operational strategy across the site and wider Group.
This role is well-suited to candidates with experience in a high-volume, fast-moving, ambient warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and mentor staff to create a high-performing warehouse team.
- Oversee recruitment, training, performance management, and adherence to company policies.
- Manage resource planning, team scheduling, and workflow allocation to meet daily operational targets.
- Ensure warehouse processes—including receipt, storage, dispatch, and inventory management—run efficiently.
- Deliver against KPI targets such as productivity, pick rates, stock accuracy, and vehicle turnaround.
- Maintain strict budget control and cost-effective use of labour, equipment, and resources.
- Drive the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of SOPs.
- Champion a lean, improvement-focused culture across all operational areas.
- Ensure compliance with all legislative, customer, and company standards, including H&S.
- Support strategic projects, operational improvements, and long-term growth plans.
- Promote a safe, positive, and customer-focused working environment.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in logistics or warehouse operations management.
- Strong leadership and people management capability, with a passion for developing teams.
- Proven resource planning experience within a busy, fast-paced environment.
- Experience in ambient warehousing is highly advantageous.
- Strong communication and influencing skills at all levels.
- Sound working knowledge of H&S, HR and transport legislation.
- Budget and cost-control experience.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and warehouse systems.
- Ability to manage competing priorities, adapt to change, and drive continuous improvement.
- Ambitious, forward-thinking, and motivated to progress into senior management.
