We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at a new special educational setting in Bodmin.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people by helping build a nurturing, structured environment where every child can thrive.

Role Responsibilities:

* Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups

* Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs)

* Promote emotional regulation, independence, and life skills

* Help deliver engaging and structured lessons under teacher guidance

* Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff

* Manage challenging behaviour using positive reinforcement

* Provide personal care when needed

What We're Looking For:

* Experience working with children or young people with SEMH and/or ASD in an education or care setting

* A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach

* Strong teamwork and communication skills

* Understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices

* Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 TA, CACHE, NVQ) are desirable

* Willingness to undergo further training (e.g. autism awareness, behaviour support)
