Pastoral Administrator

Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday (30 hours per week)Contract: Term TimeLocation: Brightlingsea 

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organised, approachable and resilient Pastoral Administrator to join our busy student support team. This is an exciting, fast-paced role at the heart of the school, supporting the pastoral team to ensure students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.

You will be based in the Pastoral Office, a central point for student queries, wellbeing concerns and behaviour support. Every day will be different—this role requires someone calm, confident, and able to hold their ground while still offering warmth and reassurance.

Key Responsibilities

Student Support (Majority of the Role)

  • Supporting students with day-to-day needs and concerns
  • Assisting students in accessing uniform items
  • Writing clear and accurate incident reports
  • Helping students with pastoral or wellbeing issues
  • Building positive, respectful relationships with young people
  • Remaining firm and confident when maintaining expectations

Administrative Duties

  • Monitoring the Call Out system for teacher support requests
  • Managing walkie-talkie communication
  • Using Arbor and Class Charts to log behaviour incidents and update student records
  • Printing, preparing and organising documents for the pastoral team
  • Ensuring the Pastoral Office runs efficiently in a busy school environment

Safeguarding Requirements

An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service, or a willingness to apply for one, is essential for this role.
