Job Description:

A1 Jobs are seeking a skilled Engineer to join our client's dynamic team on a permanent contract. If you're hands-on, mechanically minded, and take pride in keeping machinery running safely and efficiently, this could be the role for you.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation and maintenance of our manufacturing equipment and facilities. This role requires a strong technical background, leadership qualities, and excellent problem-solving skills to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency across all operational areas. The Maintenance Engineer will play a key role in maintaining safety standards, supervising maintenance activities, and providing exceptional customer service within the organisation.

Duties

* Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure operational efficiency.

* Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic issues using schematics and technical documentation.

* Programme, test, and modify programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to support automation processes.

* Carry out welding repairs and mechanical adjustments as required to maintain equipment integrity.

* Read and interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and maintenance manuals effectively.

* Lead maintenance teams during repair activities, providing supervision and guidance to ensure safety and quality standards are met.

* Maintain detailed records of maintenance work, repairs, and inspections for compliance purposes.

* Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance schedules with minimal disruption to production.

* Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations by implementing best practices during all maintenance activities.

* Provide excellent customer service by addressing internal client needs promptly and professionally.

Qualifications

* Proven experience in electrical, mechanical, or industrial maintenance within a manufacturing environment.

* Strong knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics, and electrical systems.

* Skilled in welding techniques with the ability to perform repairs on various metal components.

* Demonstrated mechanical knowledge with experience in troubleshooting complex machinery issues.

* · Milling and Turning Proficiency; specifically working with hardened materials

* Proficiency in Mechanical, Hydraulics and Pneumatics

* Proficient in Machine Maintenance and Planned Maintenance

* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.

* Good command of English, both written and spoken, for clear communication within teams.
