Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a range of welcoming and supportive secondary schools across Northampton, who are seeking reliable and confident Cover Supervisors to start in March 2026.

Schools are offering both full-time and part-time opportunities, with long-term placements that may lead to permanent roles for the right candidates.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning by delivering pre-planned lessons during teacher absences. You'll help foster a positive classroom environment while ensuring students remain engaged and focused.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervising pre-set lessons across KS3 and KS4

Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a purposeful learning environment

Providing clear instructions and guidance to students

Supporting pupils with lesson tasks where appropriate

Reporting back to teaching staff on student engagement, behaviour, and progress

The Ideal Candidate Will:

Have experience working with young people (school-based experience desirable but not essential)

Be confident leading a classroom and promoting positive behaviour

Be open to flexible working patterns (full-time or part-time)

Be interested in long-term opportunities with permanent potential

Demonstrate strong communication skills and a professional, proactive attitude
