About The Ned
The Ned and Ned’s Club are a global collection of hotels, clubs, spas and restaurants for like-minded individuals to meet, work and have a good time.
The Ned launched in 2017 in the heart of the City, in the former Midland Bank headquarters. The Ned City of London houses Ned’s Club, a private members’ space, gym and rooftop, alongside a public spa, ten restaurants and bars, and 250 hotel bedrooms.
Reporting into the Engineering and Facilities Director, you will:
- Lead all engineering activity across kitchens and food and beverage outlets, ensuring equipment reliability and minimal operational disruption
- Take ownership of preventative, reactive and emergency maintenance for all F&B assets, plant and systems
- Prioritise, plan and supervise engineering workloads and third-party contractors to ensure fast, effective resolution of issues
- Ensure statutory compliance across all kitchen operations, including gas safety certification, ductwork cleaning and asset testing
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records for all kitchen and F&B equipment, including condition, downtime and maintenance history
- Support operational teams by responding quickly to issues during service, understanding the pressures of live F&B environments
- Develop the engineering team’s technical capability through training and hands-on leadership, increasing in-house repair capacity
- Work in close partnership with culinary and F&B leadership to anticipate issues and support future operational needs
- Plan a detailed 'replacement' schedule for equipment in each Kitchen with the Executive Chef, F&B Director and Director of Engineering and Facilities, obtain costs for replacing equipment in the Capex budget

What you can bring to the role:
- You’ll bring strong experience managing engineering within a high-volume food and beverage environment, where downtime is not an option and service never stops.
- You’ll be technically confident, highly organised and calm under pressure, with the ability to make fast, practical decisions that keep kitchens running safely and efficiently. You understand the commercial and operational realities of F&B and know how to work collaboratively with chefs and operators to support service delivery.
- You’ll also be a capable people leader, developing your team’s skills and confidence while setting clear expectations around standards, safety and accountability.
- This position requires a flexible schedule, including availability for evenings and weekends when necessary and accommodating the needs of the business.
