Toolroom Engineer

Location: Near Uxbridge, West London
Salary: £36,729 (£19ph) + 1.5x daily overtime

There is a signing bonus available with this role: £3,000 paid over three (3) instalments.

Syntech Recruitment is working with a well-established UK aerospace and defence manufacturer, renowned for producing high-precision components used in critical, life-saving aviation systems. This is an excellent opportunity to join a clean, modern manufacturing facility with long-term stability and development.

We are recruiting a Toolroom Engineer to support low-batch, high-precision machining operations. This role is ideal for a machinist who enjoys hands-on work, combining manual machining, deburring and fitting, rather than high-volume production work.

Carry out manual machining, including milling, turning, drilling and fitting
Perform deburring, bench work and component finishing/broaching
Produce precision components to tight tolerances and engineering drawings
Edit programmes at the machine (no offline programming required)
Carry out self-inspection using micrometres, verniers, gauges, etc.
Support apprentices and trainees where required
Conduct basic machine and tool maintenanceToolroom Engineer Profile

This role suits a hands-on machinist with a strong manual background and a quality-first mindset.

Essential experience:

Background as a Manual Machinist, Toolroom Engineer or Toolmaker
Confident setting and operating CNC mills and lathes
Strong manual machining skills
Experience with deburring, fitting and finishing work
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
